Welcome to The New York Times "Real Estate Customer of the Future" research. Early in 2008, The Times studied what consumers want in their new homes, the types of locations they desire, how changes in the economy have affected their perceptions, and what they seek in the buildings in which they work. Initial findings were presented at The VU 2008, a New York Times client event held in early June. Below you will find the presentation given at that gathering, as well as an executive summary of the data. Further in-depth presentations will be planned at local and national events throughout the rest of 2008 and early 2009.
